Kerala Jalebi




1.Black gram(uzhunnu parippu)-1/2cup
2.Sugar-1cup
   Water-1/2cup
   Jalebi color-1/4tsp
   Cardamom powder-1/2tsp
3.Ghee/refined oil-for frying



  • Soak black gram in water for 30 minutes.Grind black gram with 1 tbsp water.
  • Prepare one string consistency syrup with sugar and water.Add food color and cardamom powder.Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil/ghee in a kadai.Place circle nozzle in a piping bag.Fill with batter.Pipe the batter into the hot oil.Deep fry until crisp(not brown).Remove and immerse in the sugar syrup for a minute.Take them out of syrup and serve.

  1. tis is an very diff method for jalebi.. hv never come across .. it looks really yumm.this version seems very simple too..
