Figs and Caramel Loaf Cake



This recipe is adapted from Nithya's 4th sence cooking.com.
here is a wonderful recipe of figs and caramel loaf cake.
I'm very grateful to Nithya for sharing her recipe.
I hope every one enjoy this recipe.


1.All purpose flolur-1&1/2cup
   Baking powder-1tsp
   Baking soda-1/4tsp
2.Butter-1/2cup
   Sugar-1/2-3/4cup
   Eggs-2
3.Figs-15
   Sugar-2tbsp
   Water-1/2cup



  • Mix together flour baking powder and baking soda.
  • Heat 2 tbsp sugar over low heat,stirring constantly,until lightly brown.Add 1/2cup water and chopped figs carefully.Cook until all the water has evaporated.

  • Preheat oven to 150 degree C
  • In a mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Beat in the eggs one at a time.Add sieved flour and stir until just blended.Gently fold in the fig mixture with a spoon.

  • Fill the mold with batter up to 3/4th.Bake until  golden or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45-50 minutes.
