Cheema Chakka Thoran (Bread Fruit Stir Fry with Coconut)



1.Bread Fruit-1(cubed)
2.Onion-2
   Green Chilly-2
   Thenga kothu(coconut pieces)-1/4cup
3.Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
   Chilly powder-1/2ts
   Coriander powder-1tsp
   Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
   Water-1/2cup
   Salt
4.Shredded Coconut-3/4cup
5.Coconut oil-1tbs
   Mustard seeds-1tsp
   Dry red chilly-2
  Curry leaves-2springs



  • Cook breadfruit with onion, green chilly, turmeric powder, chilly powder ,coriander powder,garam masala,salt and water.
  • Heat oil in another pan and sputter mustard seeds.Fry dry red chilly and curry leaves.Add cooked bread fruit and shredded coconut.
  • Cook covered on low flame for 3 minutes.Then open it and simmer it until it is dry and separated from another.
  • Serve hot with rice.
