Rice powder-1cup
Beetroot(finely grated)-1small
Salt
Water
For Carrot Puttu
Rice flour-1cup
Carrot (finely grated)-2 medium
Salt
Water
For white Puttu
Rice flour-1cup
Shredded coconut-1/4cup
Shredded coconut-1/4cup
Salt
- Take rice flour in 3 separate bowls.
- Mix rice flour with salt and shredded coconut. Pour some water and mix with fingers. The correct texture is when you grasp a palm full of flour and it seems to hold together but when gently touched, it looses shape.
- Add grated beetroot and salt into the flour.Pour some water and mix with fingers so that it look like bread crumbs.Keep aside.
- Continue the step above with carrot and rice flour.

That puttu looks fancy! i love puttu but have never tried or heard of the carrot and beet version. this is certainly interesting, and would like to try this one day. Thanks for sharing!
